BEER TASTING WEEKEND IN GDANSK
Details
Day 1
The trip starts at the railway station in Gdańsk where you will meet your guide. While discussing history of the city, we will move on to the first brewery. It is a place where brewers revived Jopen beer which was a speciality from Gdańsk produced since 1449. It was brewed by Jan Hevelius, a well-known astronomer from Gdańsk. The brewery has various types of beer. Beer tasting includes 4 types of beers, 150 ml each, with a board of snacks. During the tasting there will be also a presentation about brewing.
Later the group will go in the direction of the Royal Route where Polish kings used to walk (Brama Wyżynna, Golden Gate, tenement houses on Długa Street, Town Hall, Neptune’s Fountain, Green Gate). We will go through the Green Bridge to the harbour. The guide will describe history of the best known monuments during the walk to the second brewery. At this point, a portion of 3 beers of 125 ml each will be waiting for the guests. All types of beer are natural and without preservatives. During the tasting there will be again a short seminar.
Day 2
The second day is dedicated to a visit in Sopot. It is a charming town with a wonderful view of the Gulf of Gdańsk. Tourists from all over the world come here to spend their free time. Heroes of Monte Cassino Street is a place from where our walk will start. During the walk the guide will show Krzywy Domek (“crooked house”) which looks as if it came from a fairytale.
