PROGRAM

DAY 1

Drive to Białystok. A short walk in the city center, where we will see, among others the Branicki palace, the Kościuszko market with a late Baroque style town hall, Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, St. Nicholas Orthodox church. and the Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic—European Art Centre. Dinner and night at the hotel in the Białystok area.

DAY 2

Breakfast. Sightseeing of the Branicki palace. Drive to Supraśl, where we will see the The Monastery of the Annunciation in Supraśl with the possibility to see the liturgical books, we will also go to the Museum of Icons with a collection of around 1,200 icons, the oldest of which date back to the 18th century. Drive to Kruszyniany where we will visit the oldest wooden mosque in Poland and a Muslim cemetery from the late 17th century. There will also be possibility to try dishes of traditional Tatar cuisine. On the way back to the hotel, it is possible to stop for 2-3 hours in the center of Białystok (free time). Going back for dinner and overnight a hotel in the Bialystok area.

DAY 3

Breakfast, drive to Białowieża – visiting the most interesting monuments and natural peculiarities: demonstration reserve of European bisons – the moust famous animal of the park, Museum of Nature and Forest of the Białowieża National Park, Orthodox church of St. Nicholas the Miracle-Worker, tsarist railway station – Białowieża freight, which is today a restaurant. Drive to Hajnówka, which is also called the capital town of Białowieża forest, where we can see an architecturally interesting two-level Orthodox church – the Holy Trinity Orthodox Church. Dinner and night in the hotel in Hajnówka.

DAY 4

Breakfast. Drive to Tykocin. Walk around the old town: Stefan Czarnecki square, Holy Trinity Church. Visit to the great Synagogue form 17th century and the small Synagogue which includes the Museum of Jewish Culture. Guided tour of the Tykocin Royal Castle – underground, Glass Room with the largest tiled stove in pre-partition Poland, prison tower – a magnificent viewpoint. Return to the initial departure point. End of the trip in the evening hours.
